Long, winding, bumpy driveway is not paved so leave sports car home. But most cars are OK. Spacious bedrooms. Kitchen amenities for family dining. Game room provides hours of fun with air hockey, indoor basketball hoop arcade, ping pong, corn hole, dart board and board games. Short drive to many area attractions in GA & TN!

The Space

Secluded and private but just minutes away from civilization - if you want! Enjoy the amenities of the home - which includes a huge game room for family fun. Includes ping pong table, air hockey, indoor basketball hoop arcade, darts, corn hole and lots of board games, cards and poker! Morning breakfasts and family dinners are enjoyable in the stocked kitchen. You’ll be welcomed with a cup of coffee or tea upon arrival! Quiet neighbors appreciate their solitude too - so be mindful you’re with mountain folks who go to bed early and wake up even earlier! You can easily spot horses, deer and even turkey on or near the property. This is the ideal place to reconnect with family and friends and give technology a break! Sit on the front porch and watch the sunrise. Enjoy the clean and fresh air. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit at night. And de-stress during your stay at “The Nest”!

Guest Access

As our guest , you have access to the entire home except where specially marked. For example, there’s no access to the “owner’s closet” in the hallway.

Other Things to Note

We recommend you purchase your initial groceries before arriving to the “The Nest”. Depending on where you’re coming from, you will pass several grocery stores along the way. Get food/supplies for at least your first day of stay. Most grocery stores are about 25 minutes away. Cindy can give you more info when you book your stay.
We are conveniently located near Jasper, Elijay, Blue Ridge, Marble City and Calhoun in Georgia. Chattanooga TN has many attractions, including Rock City and Tennessee Aquarium - which are about 1.5 hours away. Atlanta airport is about 1.5 hrs away.
Lots of thrift stores and antique stores less than 30 mins away. Local restaurants are very tasty and range from Country…Mexican…Chinese…Soul food…and chain restaurants such as McDonald’s, Bojangles, Wendy’sPapa John’s, Pizza Hut and much more! Wal-Mart, nail salons, massages, and other shopping conveniently available in town of Jasper! Hospital is within a 30 min drive.

The Neighborhood

Ranger is a quiet, mountain town. As of 2020, our population was 82 but we are growing. Most of Ranger is located in Gordon County but “The Nest” is nestled right inside the Pickens County boundary lines. Neighbors are friendly but they keep to themselves and want you to respect their privacy. Homes are spaced out so you may not see your neighbors at all. Most main roads are paved but many driveways (like ours) are unpaved. This is a place to come to relax and enjoy nature. So no large parties or late night festivities. Field service is mostly driving in rural territory.

Getting Around

“The Nest” is located 25 mins from major grocery stores, shopping as well as hospital/urgent care/fire department. We do not recommend you bring a sports car due to many unpaved roads. However most vehicles, including sedans, are fine. An SUV or truck is ideal. You can take private walks or hikes on the property. There are no street lights so exercise caution when driving in the dark. Once you leave the neighborhood, the roads are paved. Cellular service is very spotty on Damascus Road - but is fine once you are on a main road.

House Rules

General Rules:
1. No Smoking: Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited on the property.
2. No Pets, Including Emotional Support Animals: To maintain a clean, allergy-free environment for all guests, we cannot accommodate pets or emotional support animals. We understand the importance of emotional support animals, but due to the risk of allergens and potential damage, we must enforce this policy. Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are welcome with prior notice.
3. No Parties or Events: The Nest is a peaceful getaway, so parties, events, or excessive noise are not allowed. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
4. Maximum Occupancy: The house comfortably accommodates 8 guests. Additional overnight guests are not permitted without prior approval.
5. Age Requirement: The primary renter must be 25 years or older and provide valid ID upon booking.

Check-In & Check-Out:
6. Check-In: Anytime after 4:00 PM.
7. Check-Out: By 11:00 AM. Late check-outs may incur additional fees unless approved in advance.
8. Self Check-In: Use the keyless entry code provided before your stay. Please ensure doors are locked when leaving.

Kitchen & Appliances:
9. Clean Up After Yourself: Wash dishes, wipe counters and leave the kitchen as you found it.
10. No Grease in the Sink: Dispose of grease in the trash to avoid plumbing issues.
11. Trash Disposal: Place all garbage in the provided trash bags and use the outdoor trash bins.

Game Room Rules:
12. Supervise Children: All children must be supervised in the game room for safety.
13. Handle Games with Care: Return all game pieces, paddles, and accessories to their proper place after use.
14.. Be careful with Food or Drinks: To keep the games and equipment in great shape, please be careful when eating or drinking in the game room. Clean up any spills promptly. Do not leave food or trash in the game room.

Outdoor Spaces:
15. Use Outdoor Equipment Responsibly: Corn hole boards and other outdoor games should be returned to their storage area after use.
16. Fire Safety: When using the fire pit, please ensure fires are fully extinguished before leaving it unattended.
17. Respect Wildlife: Do not feed or approach local wildlife.

Safety & Security:
18. Lock Doors and Windows: For your safety, lock all doors and windows when you leave the house or at night.
19. No Illegal Activities: Drug use, underage drinking and any illegal activities are strictly prohibited.
20. Report Damages Immediately: Accidents happen! Please let us know of any damages or issues so we can address them promptly. Unreported damages may result in additional charges.

Additional Notes:
21. Energy Conservation: Please turn off lights, fans and appliances when not in use.
22. Septic System: Only flush toilet paper. Do not flush wipes, feminine products or other items as this can damage the septic system.
23. Respect the Community: The Nest is located in a quiet mountain neighborhood. Be courteous to neighbors and keep noise to a minimum.

By booking your stay at The Nest, you agree to abide by these rules. Failure to follow them may result in additional fees or immediate termination of your stay without refund and forfeiture of the right to leave a review.

I've been a servant of Jehovah for 24 years. My 4 children are all grown and serving Jehovah as pioneers, elders and Bethelites. My husband Steve and I love to meet brothers from all over the world. I love the outdoors and spending time with my 4 dogs. I also enjoy hiking in the North Georgia mountains and glamping with friends especially in the fall. I'm very detailed oriented and I want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. "The Nest" is perfect for you if you just want a quiet getaway that's super clean, updated and relaxing. There's lots to do inside - with air hockey, an indoor basketball hoop, darts and lots of board games in the large game room. Or go outside and enjoy a walk in the private woods. Dinner with family and friends are enjoyable in the modern kitchen that's also equipped with a coffee station. But don't take my word for it - come and experience The Nest for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed! My life's motto: They can't bury you if you're moving!
